Welcome to Oakwood Veterinary Centre

Oakwood Veterinary Centre opened in 1994 by Barbara Jones BVMS MRCVS VetMFHom to provide integrated veterinary care for pets. As well as conventional veterinary medicine and surgery with up to date diagnostic equipment on site, our vets also use complementary therapies including homeopathy, acupuncture, western herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, natural nutrition and dietary advice, flower essences, laser therapy and Reiki healing. One of our Veterinary Nurses is also trained in crystal therapy and we can provide cranial osteopathy by appointment with a visiting osteopath. With the increase in number of pets suffering from chronic disease and cancer, we provide a range of different natural cancer therapies to give your pet the best quality of life that we can. We use the term complementary therapy rather than alternative therapy as we feel that it is important to use whatever is best for your individual pet and we may need to integrate the conventional and complementary treatments. We aim to use a truly holistic approach to keep your pet as healthy as possible. With their welfare at heart, we provide this in the most compassionate way we can. Our staff are all very caring and support you as well as your pet and will take time to discuss the options that are available. The Centre is set in a peaceful rural environment which helps to provide a relaxed and healing atmosphere.

We are only able to provide advice and treatment for animals that are under our care; we are happy to see clients by referral from other veterinary surgeons and to work alongside your own primary care vet, to achieve what is best for the health of your pet.
